Veloso Bar Has Brazilian's Favorites: Coxinha And Caipirinha

A delightful place, a mouth-watering tidbit and a perfect drink: that's been Veloso's formula for success ever since its opening nine years ago.

Decorated simply and with a straightforward menu, the bar is a safe haven for its clientele, who often have to wait for over an hour for a table.

Patience is rewarded. The coxinha (deep-fried dough with chicken filling) is the delicacy of the house —on Saturdays, over 4,000 are sold. And for an accompanying drink, try the infallible caipirinhas, ranging from physalis with pineapple to the traditional cashew fruit juice with lime. All made to measure by Souza, the very nice barman.
